Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenAid Silicone Slotted Turner, BlackCustomer Review: Absolutely The Best Turner! Summary: 5 Stars
All my cookware is All-Clad Stainless Steel so I usually use All-Clad Stainless Steel utensils, however, all my All-Clad fry pans are nonstick. I previously used a Calphalon synthetic nylon turner for my omelets, pancakes etc. After about the second use the edge became melted, very rough and frayed. After washing it I would have to peel of all the frayed pieces hanging from the edge. And, it was always an extra effort to remove the egg residue. As with all my KitchenAid appliances and gadgets, my experience with this turner has been excellent. It doesn't melt or fray at the edge so I know there are not any unwanted ingredients in my cooking. Eggs and melted cheese do not stick to it and it is a snap to clean. It is a little larger than most turners, which is handy when you are folding an omelet, flipping a pancake or a burger. I absolutely love it! Outstanding!
Description of KitchenAid Silicone Slotted Turner, BlackSliding under a delicate piece of fish or a crepe you need a spatula that has gently curved edges and a wide head, with just the right amount of bend vs. resistance. You also want a slotted spatula capable of effortlessly lifting weightier foods like a salmon steak. Thanks to its remarkable heat-resistance you can leave it resting against the skillet without melting it. Durable, good looking, and designed with both function and comfort in mind, this tool coordinates with your black KitchenAid appliances. This flexible spatula bends with your food, not against it, so you won't end up mangling the delicate omelet you're trying to flip. The 4-by-5-inch head has rounded corners and tapered edges to slide easily underneath the biggest pancake or the heaviest burger, and the slotted surface leaves cooking grease and sauce behind in the pan. Because it's constructed from highly heat-resistant silicone, this turner won't melt if you leave it propped up against a skillet, and it won't scratch or otherwise harm your beloved nonstick pans. The KitchenAid logo even doubles as a spatula rest, so you can place the turner up against the rim of a pan without it sliding in. With its cheery chrome accents and convenient hanging loop, this turner will brighten your kitchen even as it stays within arm's reach. --Mary Park
