To use, simply lift the top, place food in the holder, and lower the top. The wires slice as they push through the food. Ease of use means slices can be churned out fairly quickly and uniformly, great for creating just the right size slices for hors d-oeuvres and sandwiches, and for adding embellishments to salads or cakes (Aussies who decorate their traditional meringue dessert, the pavlova, with kiwi, banana, and strawberry slices will love this device). Made of durable plastic that wipes clean and stays stable thanks to rubber feet, the egg slicer measures 6-1/2 by 4 by 1-1/2 inches and is conveniently dishwasher-safe.
