This item broke on first use when slicing olives. The wires just couldn't take the tension of cutting through a canned black olive (no pits of course). Pure junk--and now a contributor to land-fill waste. Save your money. It is disappointing that KitchenAid will put its hard-earned reputation/name on virtually any piece of trash these days...
