1. The chrome wheel that is used to adjust the time does not provide clear tactile feedback as to when the digit has been changed. So, it is very difficult to set the time to the correct digits...if you want 15 minutes, it is very easy to get 23 or 8 or some other unwanted number.

2. The hours, minutes, and seconds must be set separately. First, you start off by setting the hours. Once you have that set, then you wait for several seconds until the minutes start to blink. Once you have that set, you wait for several seconds until the seconds start to blink. If all you want to set are the minutes, then you will have to wait several seconds before you can even set them. All in all, in could easily take you 45 seconds to 1 minute just to set the timer.

3. Once the timer runs out, it stays at zero instead of reverting to the start time that was first entered. This means that when you are baking several sheets of cookies, you will need to set it before each batch.

Kitchenaid attempted to recreate the classic kitchen timer in digital form. The monstrosity that they ended up with is a timer that is terribly aggravating to use. If you want a timer that you have wait on and is difficult to set, buy this one. Otherwise, save yourself a lot of hassle and aggravation and buy a different timer.
