Every girl dreams of a wedding to have that one Cinderella day with a beautiful dress, a prince, flowers, and music... I dreamed of a wedding registry... as I really wanted the Kitchen Aid Mixer and felt too guilty abut purchasing it by myself (as it's really big and powerful and is meant to take care of entire family).
Though, luckily there was a nice sale of reconditioned mixers, and the price looked too good to be true (much cheaper then a wedding at least); and I easily convinced my boyfriend who likes cooking, but is very particular about kitchen utensils, that it will be a great addition to our studio.
And you know what, the Mixer managed to bring scents of family to our place! We discovered a whole new world of baking. Homemade pizzas, various breads, éclairs, tarts, you name it! Working with dough is so much easier, almost effortless (especially when you try to compare mixing yeast dough by hand). It's great for omelets and quiches; I also use it to puree soups. You can also purchase extra attachments for the mixer that seem to be perfect for grinding meats, cutting pasta, chopping vegetables, and even stuffing sausages.
Kitchen Aid dramatically expanded and improved my menu. It works great for two of us, and never failed to help us when cooking for a large group of people. It's very durable and heavy, and it's quite large; but hearing how my boyfriend praises my cooking skills to his friends is priceless. Plus I started to have healthy wedding dreams with a dress, and a prince, and the flowers... Though I still want to get those mixer attachments...

The Refurbished Professional HD Series has a powerful 475 watt motor that delivers enough power to handle the heaviest mixtures, and mix large batches easily. This bowl lift model has brackets on the bowl that fit over support pins on the stand mixer, which is than lifted up by a handle on the right side of the mixer to lock the bowl in place while mixing (designed for handling heavy mixtures and large recipes). The dish washer safe, 5-quart polished stainless steel bowl with ergonomic handle is big enough to handle large batches of heavy mixtures. Its ergonomically designed handle is contoured to fit the hand and makes lifting the bowl more comfortable.With 450 watts of power and a 5-quart bowl capacity KitchenAid's Professional 5 Plus stand mixer tackles big jobs. This factory-reconditioned machine prepares food for a crowd and ably handles tough mixes. Its body features durable die-cast metal construction and offers a direct-drive transmission and all-metal gears. The sturdy lifting mechanism uses a metal arm and steel lever to effortlessly raise an ingredient-filled bowl. The bowl itself features stainless steel construction, two pins to attach to the lifting arm, and an ergonomically designed handle for comfort during use.
10 speeds allow for everything from whipping egg whites to slow churning bread dough and the Soft-Start feature keeps power in check to prevent splashing and flour clouds. A unique mixing action spins the beater clockwise while the shaft spins counter clockwise; this results in an even blend. As a safety measure, the motor stops in the event of an obstruction or overloading. An integrated hub cover with hinge flips up to allow easy installation of attachments. A flat beater comes with purchase but additional pieces including a wire whip, dough hook, citrus juicer, and sausage stuffer can be purchased separately. The machine measures 16-1/2 by 12 by 14 inches, comes in a range of colors, and includes a 90-day warranty.
